Why Strategy and Planning?

We live in a VUCA world, where conventional mindsets and traditional problem solving techniques are challenged by volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity. Whether it’s political shifts, financial fragility, conflicting and confusing prioritization of values, generational workforce demographics, global supply chain reliability or necessary interdependence. The turbulence of this transitory era requires clarity of vision, improved understanding and a comfort with agility to successfully navigate and adapt.

Strategies, and the subsequent tactical and operational implementation plans, are therefore becoming increasingly important in creating a sense of belonging, purpose, identity, connection to the mission, cohesion and direction.

Q: How? A: Process

My strategy and planning offer is based on a process of listening, helping and learning. Traditional consulting approaches for strategy development have focused on the delivery of a product, however there is jeopardy associated with this approach as it often results in a lack of understanding and ownership by the teams who are looking to this document for strength, validation and connection to the organization.

My offer is focused on creating an inclusive ideation process of strategic development. Whether there is a preferred strategic model in place already or you’re open to suggestions, by focusing on the process not the outcome we will deliver a strategy that the whole team, from the board to the front line staff, are inspired by.

The listening, helping, learning stages are like wooden dolls, each one builds on the next and by stacking these together we can achieve a depth and richness to the process which is often missed in traditional consultancy approaches.
